Commonly asked questions about the product.

Q. What kind of metals do you use?

Base metal pieces are made of pure jewelers’ copper. I also use brass and new gold. Most silver wrapped pieces have a base wire of sterling silver (.925) and are wrapped (most times) with fine silver (.99). I will also use yellow gold-filled wire and rose gold-filled wire. Q. Are your gemstones real?

All gemstones are real unless indicated. Pearls are fresh water. Most of the turquoise nuggets and beads I use are mined in Colorado unless otherwise noted. The sea glass and pottery shards have been harvested from beaches in northern California and are not artificially tumbled. If you have any question about a specific stone or would like to incorporate a specific stone into a design, please contact me.

Q. Do you produce your own jewelry?

YES! My wire wrapped pieces are hand made in the USA and are one of a kind. Meaning I probably cannot replicate a design exactly even if I wanted to.

Q. I love the look of copper, but what about the care? What if it turns my skin green?

Copper is a natural material, and should be worn without retardants applied, but if there is any question, I would be happy to coat the wearing surface with Renaissance wax. Some people cannot wear copper without suffering some sort of reaction, and in the worst case scenario, I would be happy to apply a refund once the item is returned.

Q. What about care?

Tarnished silver can be cleaned by any jeweler. If using an over-the-counter product, please be mindful of fresh water pearls, as some silver cleaner will rub the finish off. Copper can be easily cleaned by putting into a Ziploc bag with catsup. Soak for an hour, then rinse and pat dry. Or it can be brightened with a combination of lemon juice and salt. Again, rinse thoroughly and dry before wearing.

What to expect once you’ve considered ordering or have ordered.

Q. Do you accept special orders?

YES! I welcome the challenge! Almost anything can be fashioned out of wire. I have made tiaras (for wedding veils), other hair accessories like combs and pins, sweater pins, wire sculptures (look for them to be posted in the gallery), etc. My store contains only a small sample of my inventory. I can do more elaborate or simpler designs. Please email me to discuss the details.

Q. What is your shipping policy?

Standard Shipping & Handling Charges: All orders for items that are in stock are shipped within 7 business days after we receive your order, unless items are out of stock. We will notify you if your requested item is out of stock. Please provide the recipient’s telephone number on all orders. Please contact twistedandwired@gmail.com for any interest in international shipping and rates; customs and duties are applicable towards purchaser.

We ship by UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE/post office, Priority Mail with tracking. $7.90/small box, $14.35/medium box. Combined shipments: To avoid an additional shipping charge please contact the studio directly to place another order if an online order has already been placed.

Overnight Shipping: If you’d like overnight shipping, please place your order before 11 AM (Mountain time) and we will make every effort to ship in-stock items the same day or the following day for overnight delivery on the next business day, or you can call me to discuss express options.

Q. What is your return policy?

Please contact us regarding concerns about your purchase. Satisfaction is guaranteed. Refunds will not be issued without the return of the item.

All pieces discounted and or on sale are non-returnable-all sales final, sale prices depending on availability subject to change.

Q. Do you offer repairs?

If you need one of our pieces repaired please contact us for further assistance.

All repairs will be made on a first-received, first-repaired basis and will be returned to you promptly.
